How to make Avocado Toast – Easy Recipe for Beginners

Crispy toast, creamy avocado, a little crunch, a little zing.
It’s healthy-ish, takes 10 minutes, and makes you feel like you have your life together.
Bonus: It photographs like a dream.

Ingredients (Serves 1)

Ripe avocado – ½ (about 70g), mashed
Bread slice – 1 thick slice (about 50g), toasted
Salt – 1 pinch
Black pepper – a few cracks
Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
Chili flakes or red pepper – optional
Olive oil – a drizzle
Optional toppings – poached or fried egg, cherry tomatoes, feta, radish slices, microgreens

Instructions

1. Toast your bread (2–3 minutes)
Use a thick slice (sourdough or whole grain is ideal).
Toast until golden and crunchy, but not break-your-teeth hard.

2. Mash your avo (2 minutes)
In a bowl, mash 70g ripe avocado with 1 tsp lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and black pepper.
You can go chunky or smooth—your toast, your rules.

3. Assemble (2 minutes)
Spread the mashed avocado generously over the toast.
Drizzle olive oil, and top with chili flakes, tomatoes, radish, egg—whatever feels fancy today.

4. Serve immediately
Eat while it’s fresh and crisp. Staring at it for too long = soggy regrets.

Pro Tip

Want to level up? Rub the toast with a cut garlic clove before spreading the avo.
